Hi girls!I am very excited to work with all of you on this book.To start I have assigned each of you a role for the first 101 pages.
The Discussion Director will be Jenny.
What your job is is to make a list of questions that your group might want to discuss about this part of the book. List at least 7 questions. You are also responsible for rating students 1-10 on their participation on the day of the reading group.
The Vocabulary Builder will be Peyton.
Your job is to find the important or unknown words in the readings. Then go and find the definition of the words. You may also run across familiar words that stand out somehow in the reading-words that are repeated a lot, used in an unusual way, or key to the meaning of the text. There must be at least 7 words.
The summarizer will be Laura.
Your job will be to prepare a brief summary of the week’s reading. The other members of your group will be counting on you to give a quick statement that conveys the gist, the key points, the main highlights, and the essence of the reading assignment. The paragraph should be a minimum of 7 sentences maximum of 10.
I will be the connector, because there are only 3 of you in the group.
Please have your posts in by Wednesday, October 16th. We will then be able to discuss the book through this blog. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

Hi guys, for the Discussion Director, I guess I'll be asking 7 deep thinking questions. So..
1.How do you think Tally felt when the man said, "There's a problem with your operation. Come with me."
2.Was Peris happy when Tally snuck over to New Pretty Town to see him? Why or why not? Explain.
3.How do you think Shay felt when Tally told her that she wasn't escaping with her?
4. If you were Tally, would you have joined Shay, or turn pretty?Explain.
5.If you were to be Tally and go see special circumstances, how would you have felt?Scared?Excited?Explain.
6.How do you think Tally felt when Shay took her to the Rusty Ruins?
7. When Shay tried to look for David, how do you think Shay felt? How did Tally feel? Explain how each of the girls' feelings were different.

Hey, So I am the summarizer for pages 1 to 102. Tally Youngblood in about two months she would turn sixteen which means she gets to turn pretty. Her best friend, Paris is already awaiting Tally in the party tower. In one night when she goes to meet Paris she meets a new best buddy, Shay. Shay brought a new excitment into Tally's world, plus their birthday was on the same day so they will always be friends. They would hoverboard,pull tricks, and have a good ugly time. Tall has always wanted to be pretty, but on the other hand Shay likes being the way she is. Shay took Tally to the Rusty Ruins, and wanted Tally to meet her friend David. Unfortunatly, he did not show up. A week before their operation Shay asked Tally to leave with her to the Ruins and never come back. TAlly said no and she and Shay left their friendship behinde. When Tally walked in for her operation something was wong. Tally new nothing. She felt a pit in her stomache when the doctor came in and said ther is something wrong.

1. I think she was like OMG! what could of gone wrong. She was probably really upset because she could not wait to turn pretty.
2. No he was not. He didn't want Tally to get caught so she would never turn pretty. And i think he didn't want to see her ugly face since he was now pretty.
Ummm... Laura, as Discussion Director, I'm just saying that your summary was fantastic!! I just wanted to point out that you had some spelling errors, but it's ok!
And on my summary i was having trouble spelling. I am sorry.
3. Shay most likely felt like wow i spent all this time working on a friendship that broke because Tally was to in to turning something she is not!
4.iF I were Tally i would have gone with Shay just s=to see what it was like in the Rusty Ruins.
Jenny your questions are really good just on #5 you went ahead!
6. Mabey a little weird. And mabey a little scared especailly when Shay said that they were going to meet somebody.
7.Shay was excited and couldn't wait for Tally to meet David. Tally was a litle scared to meet a person from another place.
Laura, Peyton, Ms. Rothrock, I'm sorry on #5, I went ahead. I didn't realized that.Well, Laura, your answers were great! I'm still hoping that we can discuss them a little bit more in class though!And Laura, Shay was escaping to a place called Smokes or Smokey. Tally had already been to the Rusty Ruins, but we'll discuss it more in class. Thanks!

Laura, I'm giving you a nine for participation and work because you talked a lot, and participated, and your summary was amazing!!!
Peyton, I'm giving you a 8 1/2 because the whole time, you were pretty much laughing and repeating Laura and stuff. Plus, I couldn't find your Vocabulary words, but it's ok. We'll discuss the words you found in class.
I'm giving myself an 8 because I don't think my questions were that great, but it did make you guys think a bit. We all participated well, and I really had fun guys!!!
We discussed the vocabulary in class on Thursaday because We could all not find Peyton's vocabulary words. And she did post them!

Hi I'm giving you guys grades.
Jenny 9.5 nbecause you did really good words and gave us the # of the page and made us look it up ourselves. How AWSOMse!!!! You answered my questions greatly. Started to do something else.
Peyton 8 because you were having trouble reading your summary and got lost a lot. Plus your summary wasn't that detailed. It's okay though. And din't answer my questions with a deep thinking level. Peyton paid more attention.
I am giving myself a 9 because i had pretty good questions but i still have to dig deeper.
But all of us did really well!!! Cannot wait till next week!!!!
